Permabond A136 Anaerobic Gasket Maker is a high-performance sealant for creating “formed in situ” gaskets between metal surfaces. It is used in both motorsport and industrial applications. The A136 anaerobic general purpose gasket maker cures in the absence of air when in contact with metal. This forms a precision gasket that replaces traditional pre-cut gaskets. The result is an exact fit that prevents leaks and improves load-bearing capacity. It allows direct surface-to-surface contact for maximum strength.
One of the main advantages of Permabond A136 Anaerobic Gasket Maker is its stability after curing. It will not shrink, creep or relax over time. This means bolts do not need re-tightening after the seal is formed. Maintenance is reduced and reliability improved. It also has excellent chemical resistance. The A136 anaerobic sealant works with oils, fuels, coolants and many gases. These qualities make it a dependable choice for demanding uses.
As a general purpose gasket maker, it offers strong performance in extreme conditions. It is suitable for engines, pumps, gearboxes and flanged joints. In motorsport, it withstands vibration, pressure and heat changes. In industry, it can reduce downtime by replacing many pre-cut gaskets. This helps cut costs and save storage space. With a maximum working operating temperature of 150 °C, it is ideal for high-heat environments. This general purpose gasket maker is trusted by engineers who need consistent, long-term sealing.
To use Permabond A136 Anaerobic Gasket Maker, first clean and dry both metal surfaces. Remove all grease, oil, and debris. Apply a continuous bead to one surface. For passive or difficult metals, such as stainless steel or aluminium, apply Permabond A905 surface activator first. This speeds curing and improves adhesion. Allow the activator to evaporate before applying the gasket maker. Assemble the parts promptly. The sealant will cure once air is excluded and metal contact is made. Handling strength develops in about 30–60 minutes. Full cure is reached in 24 hours at 23 °C. Once cured, this general purpose gasket maker creates a strong, leak-proof seal ready for service.
